On October 28, the event “Mental Health, New Addictions, and Social Involvement” was held, organized by Italian project partner, CEIPES ETS, with the Municipality of Palermo. The opening by City Councilor Salvatore Imperiale and Antonella Ferrara, Head of Human Resources of the Municipality of Palermo, emphasized the importance of inclusion and social involvement. Dr. Concetta di Benedetto discussed conciliatory policies and corporate well-being, highlighting innovative practices for health and anti-discrimination efforts.
A particular focus was dedicated to the ACTIVATOR project, which promotes the active participation of the elderly in citizen science. This project aims to involve those over 60 in scientific information, stimulating their curiosity and sense of community belonging. During the event, there was a discussion on the transversal skills needed in Public Administration and the necessity of reskilling, linking these topics to the ability of the elderly to actively contribute to society through the ACTIVATOR project.
The event represented an important opportunity for learning and exchanging experiences, strengthening the bond between public administration and citizens. The participation of councilors and representatives of the Municipality of Palermo promoted a constructive dialogue on topics of great social relevance.
